Stapleton’s Chantry is a delightful house owned by passionate gardeners who somehow manage to find enough time in between looking after their guests to care for the garden with its all year interest – winter flowering clematis, hellebores flowering from December to April, a profusion of bluebells, a mass of old fashioned roses with wonderful perfumes, a special space for guests to call their own and sit surrounded by 14th and 16th century thatched outbuildings, roses, mature trees and herbaceous borders. New trees, shrubs and plants are being added all the time, increasing variety and interest everywhere. As you walk you will catch a drift of scent from the numerous shrubs planted for not only their looks but their perfume as well.
